Taxpayer Advocate Holds Forum in Washington, DC
Industry Experts at IRS Auditorium, Discuss "Future State" Plan
The National Taxpayer Advocate Nina Olson yesterday held a public forum at the IRS Headquarters in D.C. to discuss the Future State plan. The seventh in a series of such events, Olson made it clear in her 2015 Annual Report to Congress that she intended to meet with taxpayers and tax professionals to be sure that the service-related needs of taxpayers would be met as the agency transitioned to its Future State.
The three-panel forum began at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) and included several industry experts, including Lawrence Gibbs, former commissioner of the IRS; Robert Kerr, senior director of NAEA; and John Sapp, vice president of strategic development at Drake Software. The previous forum was attended by a mix of farmers, tax professionals, and community organizations, demonstrating Olson’s dedication to discussing the Future State plan with a wide a variety of individuals.
